The proof pages of the second book in the St. Just series, Death and the Lit Chick, are on their way to me from the publisher. (A proof is made up of loose pages of the typeset book, the pages looking more or less as they will look in the final version.) I will probably have a week to go over these pages and then back they go to the publisher.
The official release date for this book is April 2009.
People are always surprised at how long this publishing process takes. Me, too. I sent in the manuscript for Death and the Lit Chick in late December of 2007.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to finish writing the third book in the series. As far as I can tell, I'm somewhere past the halfway mark.
And finally: Joining the Internet revolution, I now have a video on YouTube for the first book in the series, Death of a Cozy Writer: A St. Just Mystery.
It's not that easy keeping two or three books inside your head at once, with all the characters and plot lines. No wonder writers so often look distracted.
