"Agatha Christie fans will relish Malliet’s delicious second Max Tudor novel." Thank you, Publishers Weekly! Read the full review...

A FATAL WINTER is now available for pre-order wherever you buy books. (See the links to various sellers on Max Tudor's new Facebook page--you can read an excerpt of WICKED AUTUMN while you're there.) The book will ship starting in October.

And, WICKED AUTUMN, the first Max Tudor book, is now available in paperback. You don't have to read the books in order but it does help you to get to know the characters. (Sorry, but with this series, it's really unavoidable--otherwise I would have to repeat myself too much each time.)

[P.S.: The August 10 issue of Publishers Weekly carries an interview by Lenny Picker: "Cozy Fan Tudor: PW Talks with G.M. Malliet--G.M. Malliet channels Agatha Christie in her second mystery featuring Anglican priest Max Tudor, A Fatal Winter." Subscriber access via this link.]

Charlaine Harris on this morning's Today show on NBC recommends WICKED AUTUMN as a favorite beach read along with “Let's Pretend This Never Happened”  by Jenny Lawson and “Discount Armageddon” by Seanan McGuire.

I'm happy to announce that WICKED AUTUMN is available in large print format from Thorndike. It is also available in various audio versions from Dreamscape.

[NEW - September 2011 - See the interactive version of this map, linking from the top of the sample chapters page.]

The most amazingly gifted artist, Rhys Davies, was commissioned to turn my amateurish and extremely rough sketch of my village into this gorgeous map. It will be used as the endpapers for the book -- pasted inside the front and back covers.

I should probably post my very sketchy sketch so you can compare and see how gifted this artist is. (I should, but take my word for it: A third grader could have done better.) So THANK YOU, Rhys, for making my dream a reality and for being able to figure out what in the world I meant.

Oh, and for revising with such angelic patience.

I am happy to announce that you can now pre-order Wicked Autumn at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and all other retailers (in store or online). Delivery will be in September 2011.

I have just received the final cover art for Wicked Autumn (Fall 2011 publication date). Aren't the colors amazing?

This is still in progress, but I've seen a mock-up and it is a real work of art - all blues and turquoises and a lovely silhouette of a wicked-looking tree. The final cover art should be coming soon - and of course I will post it here right away!

WICKED AUTUMN

01/18/2011

It's official. The first book in the new series I'm writing for Thomas Dunne/Minotaur Books will be titled WICKED AUTUMN. It will be in stores September 27, 2011.

This series introduces Max Tudor (former MI5 agent, now vicar of a small English village in South West England).

I don't have a book cover yet. I can hardly wait to see it!
