Discovered by accident, while strolling around Rennes. Isn't that the best way to discover anything? (St. Just is the name of my British detective, and I quote from the original St-Just at the start of Death of a Cozy Writer ("No one reigns innocently.")

Last Night at the Martha Washington Library

Last night's signing/reading for the Chesapeake Crimes 3 anthology drew a large crowd, despite the (true) predictions of torrential rain. Returned home to find a huge old tree down in our street.

Thanks from all the authors to Mystery Loves Company (Baltimore) for providing books for the signing, to the Friends of the Fairfax County Public Library system for being such marvelous hosts, and to Donna Andrews for moderating.

Judging a book by its cover

Please note that several online book retailers are displaying an outdated cover of Death of a Cozy Writer. Worse, Amazon.com displays no cover at all. Barnes & Noble.com and Powell's very recently got ahold of the correct cover.

There is quite a story behind this mixup and the publisher and I are struggling to get everyone sorted out.

The correct and only cover for this book is at right, with the pen.
