I learned last week, in a lovely surprise, that the second Max Tudor mystery, A FATAL WINTER, will be a featured alternate selection in the Mystery Guild's holiday catalog.
There is a Part II to this news, but I'm supposed to keep quiet about that until it has been officially announced(!)

The most amazingly gifted artist, Rhys Davies, was commissioned to turn my amateurish and extremely rough sketch of my village into this gorgeous map. It will be used as the endpapers for the book -- pasted inside the front and back covers.
I should probably post my very sketchy sketch so you can compare and see how gifted this artist is. (I should, but take my word for it: A third grader could have done better.) So THANK YOU, Rhys, for making my dream a reality and for being able to figure out what in the world I meant.
Oh, and for revising with such angelic patience.
It's official. The first book in the new series I'm writing for Thomas Dunne/Minotaur Books will be titled WICKED AUTUMN. It will be in stores September 27, 2011.
This series introduces Max Tudor (former MI5 agent, now vicar of a small English village in South West England).
I don't have a book cover yet. I can hardly wait to see it!
